Still here

Our trip to Austria was pretty good. I freaked out really bad when I fell out of our raft while white water rafting.

My food choices were mediocre at best. Carbs were reintroduced again. We leave for Scotland tomorrow and return next week. Then I will have to break up with unhealthy carbs again.

Leaving!

Don’t get too excited.  I am only leaving to go on our weekend trip 🙂  haha, fooled you!  We are all packed up for our camping/rafting/canyoning trip.  At first I was worried because I am overweight and outta shape but if I let that hold me back I would not do much more than just breath…and that does not help me to lose weight.  Anyways, I peeked at the scale today and it is sitting nicely at 222 lbs.  That is great…but the again it is not Sunday and we all know that is my official weigh in day.  This next Sunday we are out of town.  I will probably take the weight on Monday morning.  For the most part I think I will end up eating SOME carbs this weekend.  We are not able to cook for each meal so sandwiches are the main option.  IF I am not hungry enough for a sandwich I do have fresh and dried fruit along with tons of beef jerky.  But I know that it is not going to fill me completely.  I packed salmon and steaks for our dinners along with bacon and eggs for breakfast.  I know we can cook at the camp for at least those two meals so I want to take advantage of it.

I should get moving.  We have to meet the bus in about an hour.  Have a great weekend.  And I challenge you to do something new.

Day 9

MONDAY– Day 9

  • Starting weight: 226
  • Current weight: 224 (updated on Sundays)
  • First goal: 200 (-26lbs)

Woke up: 6:00am to my alarm…hit snooze 1 time.

Breakfast – not really hungry…banana, coffee w/ cream, sausage

Snack – tangerine, pork rinds

Lunch – beef roast, green beans, 2 apricots

Dinner – chicken thigh stuffed w/ apples, celery, onion, butter and thyme…mashed cauliflower, sliced tomatoes, and another side of some sort…not sure

Today went by quickly at work. I was busy so I did not end up getting really tired at work. When I get home tonight I have to start looking around for stuff to pack on our camping trip this weekend. I have no idea what to wear while we are white water rafting and canyoning. I have to figure out where I put my bathing suit 😦 Yikes…I am still way to heavy to be seen in public wearing a bathing suit.

Moving on to other topics, I am still having troubles getting out of bed in the mornings. 6am is just way to early for me. No matter how early I go to bed it is just tough to get up at 6am. Grrr!

Just a quick note

I am testing out a new app for my iPhone. Wanted to share this picture.

Ms Boots is sleeping like a baby! Hopefully this will also post to my Facebook page.

Day 8

I made it!  Today I woke up around 7:50am.  Not because I wanted to but because my cats were being stubborn.  They were running across the bed, jumping and playing.  SO….  I got up.

I made a tasty smoothie this morning with fresh raspberries and a mini banana, frozen blueberries and cherries.  Then I added a scoop of protein powder and some milk.  Not a lot of milk though.  Definitely less than a cup.  It was a very tasty breakfast!

I am not sure what is for lunch today but I have some plans in the work for dinner.  I bought duck breasts for tonight.  I am going to do some research today to see what I can do with it.  I thought about trying to find something that is okay to stuff under the skin…but I don’t know.  I think I will possibly make mashed cauliflower with it.  Sounds good…and looks like mashed potatoes so it should trick my mind.

OH…I checked my weight yesterday and was at 222….but this morning I was only at 224.  I go by the weight on Sunday’s only.  So that puts me at -2 of 26 pounds to lose.  I had higher hopes for this past week but I am just getting started and in the swing of things.  I hope this week is just as good.  We leave Friday morning for our white water rafting trip…yikes!  That is scary.  But it will be a lot of exercise so that is a plus.

Day 7

One whole week of eating the Paleo way.  I have had no refined carbs at all.  I have only had meat, fruit, veggies, a small amount of dairy and some dark chocolate on rare occasions.  Today I had some major finds at a German grocery store.  I wish I would have taken pictures when I got home from the store.  I bought 5 large bags of frozen veggies:  2 cauliflower, 1 leek, 1 carrot and 1 brussel sprout bag.  These are 1000g bags and they are awesome!  I also picked up some great fresh veggies.  I found the most amazing green onions.  I have never seen produce that looked so amazing!  I had hoped to make it to the farmer’s market but I slept too late.  For some reason I was super tired…I slept until 11am this morning.  Yikes!  That is WAY too late!

Here are my eats today…

B – not hungry..or awake

S – beef jerky stick (from local market…great find!)

L – salami, mini banana, grapes

D – turkey leg, red cabbage (sauted in butter w/ green onions), leeks

S – .20g of dark chocolate w/ chilis

Day 6

I know that my food seems protein heavy.  Hopefully tonight at dinner I can make up for it.  I had 3 eggs and a sliced tomato to eat for breakfast but then I really was not hungry.  And  when I finally was hungry I did NOT want my reheated eggs.

T0morrow there is a farmer’s market down town.  I might go…not sure.  I have to pay the Germany currency (euros) and it can be costly.  But the stuff from the grocery store is not as good.  Hmmm…  Anyways, tomorrow I am off work but the husband is working.  This means I have all day to myself.  I want to read, get some sun and take a walk.

I am still here…sorry I did not blog the last two days.  I was home sick due to some eye problems.  I am doing better today though.  Very little pain an occasional cloudiness.  I do have som news though…my husband and I are planning a camping/rafting/canyoning trip next weekend.  I am excited and scared all at the same time.  It will be a good amount of exercise…but I hope eating is not a problem.  There will be some cooking at the camp site and some eating out.  I think I will be okay even if I have to make some odd choices.  Currently this has been a fairly easy way of eating.

Oh, someone wanted me to make a change with Google Reader…I don’t know how.   Any advice?  Also I have set up a Facebook page for this website.  We will see how it does.  I don’t know what to post on it 🙂

Day 2

MONDAY– Day

  • Starting weight: 226
  • Current weight: next update on Sunday
  • First goal: 200 (-26lbs)

 Woke up: 6:00am (alarm)

Breakfast – 4 pcs breakfast sausage, 2 egg (scrambled w/ onion, green pepper, mushroom), apple

Snack – 1-2 oz beef jerky, apricot

Lunch – green salad w/ cherry tomatoes, broccoli, cucumbers, peppers, small amount of shredded cheddar cheese, 3-4oz chicken breast, and some French dressing….yeah the dressing…the cafeteria was out of ranch and light ranch so I picked French and was really light with it.

Snack  – ½ avocado, 1 hb egg, plum

*holy crap…I am super hungry.  Lucky for me I have some carrots and celery with me.  I have a banana too but I have eaten a lot of fruit today.  Plus I would rather save it for desert later 🙂

Dinner – roasted pork loin w/ roasted cherry tomatoes, broccoli and onion, green beans

Back to Day 1

My first day on eating the Paleo way was a little more difficult than I expected.  I thought it would be easy to eat meat and veggies all day.  But that was a little tougher than I expected.

SUNDAY – Day  1

  • Starting weight: 226
  • First goal: 200 (-26lbs)

 Woke up: 9:30am

Breakfast – 2 thin slices pork, 1 egg (scrambled w/ onion, spinach, mushroom), 1 pc thick bacon, 1 nectarine, 1 plum

Snack – 2 tbsp Peanut Butter & Co Chocolate Peanut Butter (not quite Paleo but still low/decent carbs)

Lunch – (not very hungry) 1 slice salami, 2 pcs cheese, cucumbers, celery w/ homade ranch dip

Dinner – Paleo-friendly Chili w/ shredded mexican blend cheese (1 lb ground sirloin, rotel tomatoes, onion, green pepper, tomato sauce, spices), 2-3 cups baked cauliflower (tossed with olive oil, cumin, pepper, chipotle pepper), ½ avocado

After dinner I was still hungry but fought the urge to graze in the kitchen.  I had a plum and called it a night.  I woke up around 2:30am and my stomach was growling big time.  So I found the same jar of chocolate peanut butter and had about a tsp of peanut butter.  When this jar is empty (almost there!!) I have a jar of raw almond butter to move on to.

 Went to bed around 10pm.
